visual pop ups even when off

I dont tend to use the visual parts of GINA ..(i play in full screen).
Of course in doing so i causes glitches in the display.
Even after i turned all the visuals off i see to keep getting those same display glitches.
I flipped into windows mode .. and i still have some events that are showing visual displays.
Had one fire .. confirmed i got a display ... clicked the log entry ..
and its turned off .. seems to be happening on multiple events .. and randomly .. sometimes one .. sometimes not.
Any ideas or suggestions, potentially reinstall and recreate all of them by hand maybe?
