Can't get Beta client to run

Post by HSishi » Fri Oct 10, 2014 5:52 pm

Basically the Beta Setup.exe can't DL GINABeta.application. I can DL the beta "setup.exe" and can run it (w/ disabled SmartFilter). But then an error message pops up:
"Die Anwendung konnte nicht gedownloaded werden.
Erforderliche Dateien fehlen in der Anwendung.
Wenden Sie sich an den Hersteller der Anwendung."

Ticking "Details ..." of that message lets pop up an editor screen with the following text:

Weird thing is, I never have a "GINABeta.application" file in any directory I run the "Setup.exe" from. Any ideas what went wrong?

PS: If I run the release version of GINA's Setup.exe (1.0.16.0) it works fine and the release client starts.

I'll look into why the setup.exe bootstrapper isn't working for the beta builds. Can you try IE? It should use a different method than the setup.exe bootstrapper the other browsers use.

The bootstrapper should be working correctly now.

Yep, worked now. Just my virus scanner asked me to send the file to an online scanner, but then the application DL and installation went fine. Thanks for looking into it.
